DeGeneres Among Top Daytime Emmy Nominees

Comedian's Talk Show Up For 12 Honors

It may turn out to be another golden year for recent Oscar host Ellen DeGeneres.

"The Ellen DeGeneres Show" grabbed 12 Daytime Emmy nominations Wednesday, including one for Best Talk Show and one for Best Talk Show Host.

DeGeneres has won Best Talk Show three years in a row and Best Host twice.

Her competition for Best Talk Show is "The View," "Dr. Phil," "The Tyra Banks Show" and "Rachael Ray."

The other nominees for Best Talk Show Host are Dr. Phil, Tyra Banks, the women of The View, Rachael Ray and Lisa Rinna for "Soap Talk."

Aced out in the category, Regis Philbin continues his streak of never having won Best Talk Show Host.

As for the daytime dramas, "Guiding Light" leads with 17 nominations, followed by "As the World Turns" with 16.

"Guidling Light" is up for Best Drama Series, along with "The Bold and the Beautiful," "One Life to Live" and "The Young and the Restless."

Both Peter Bergman and Christian LeBlanc of "The Young and the Restless" were nominated for Best Actor in a Daytime Drama. The other nominees are Michael Park of "As the World Turns," Anthony Geary for "General Hospital" and Ricky Paull Goldin for "Guiding Light."

Up for Best Actress in a Daytime Drama are "Guiding Light" stars Crystal Chappell and Kim Zimmer, Jeanne Cooper and Michelle Stafford, both of "The Young and the Restless," and Maura West of "As the World Turns."

Outgoing "The Price is Right" host Bob Barker -- up for Best Game Show Host -- will also have a chance to win his 18th Emmy. He'll face off against Ben Bailey for "Cash Cab," Meredith Vieira for "Who Wants To Be a Millionaire," Pat Sajak for "Wheel Of Fortune" and Alex Trebek for "Jeopardy!"

Up for Best Game/Audience Participation Show are "The Price is Right," "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" and "Jeopardy!"

Winners will be announced June 15 in Hollywood, Calif.
