Feel wimpy? Then you may be the actor 20th Century Fox is looking for online to star of the upcoming movie adaptation of "Diary of a Wimpy Kid."

The online casting call is for a 10- to 13-year-old actor to play the lead role of Greg Heffley in the big-screen adaptation of the New York Times' bestseller. The studio has set up a site for the actors to upload audition videos.

"The character of Greg Heffley is slight, physically unprepossessing, and not overly cute or precocious," Fox described of the character. "He has a quirky, memorable face, is bright and articulate, and possesses a vivid fantasy life -- but he is cursed by the fact that he's in middle school."

The studio requires that auditioning actor "must be able to handle dialog and have a flair for ironic comedy." Fox cited a young Michael Cera ("Juno") or a middle-school aged Larry David ("Curb Your Enthusiam") as examples of the character the studio is envisioning for the role.

An illustrated novel by Jeff Kinney, "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" chronicles the adventures of wisecracking middle school student Heffley over the course of an academic year. The story is through the Heffley diary and hand-drawn cartoons.
