'All My Children' Leads Daytime Emmy Noms

Lucci Not Nominated For Lead Actress

"All My Children" led all nominees with 17 for the 30th annual Daytime Emmy Awards, announced Wednesday on the talk show "The View."

Dr. Phil McGrawOddly enough, "All my Children" (ABC) was aced out of nominations for its perennial Outstanding Lead Actress nominee Susan Lucci, and more surprisingly, for Outstanding Daytime Drama. Only four soaps got the nods -- "As the World Turns" (CBS), "The Bold and the Beautiful" (CBS), "Port Charles" (ABC) and "The Young and the Restless" (CBS).

Behind "All My Children"was "Guiding Light" (CBS) with 14 nominations, while "General Hospital" (ABC) and "The Young and the Restless" each had 12. "The View" (ABC) led all talk show nominees with 10. NBC's soaps were shut out in the major categories.

In the talk show comptetion, Oprah Winfrey prote´ge´ Phil McGraw (pictured, above) got two nominations for his rookie season, for Best Talk Show Host and Best Talk Show for "Dr. Phil" (syndicated).

For daytime dramas, the Outstanding Lead Actress nominees were Susan Flannery for "The Bold and the Beautiful," Kim Zimmer for "Guiding Light," Eileen Davidson for "The Young and the Restless," Michelle Stafford for "The Young and the Restless" and Nancy Lee Grahn for "General Hospital."

Nominated in the Outstanding Lead Actor category were Maurice Benard for "General Hospital," Anthony Geary for "General Hospital," Grant Aleksander for "Guiding Light," Ricky Paull Goldin for "Guiding Light," Thorsten Kaye for "Port Charles" and Doug Davidson for "The Young and the Restless."

Taking McGraw on for the Best Talk Show Host Emmy are Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa for "Live with Regis & Kelly" (syndicated), Lisa Rinna and Ty Treadway, "Soap Talk" (SoapNet), Barbara Walters, Star Jones, Meredith Vieira, Joy Behar and Lisa Ling for "The View" (ABC); and Wayne Brady for the "Wayne Brady Show" (syndicated). Like "Dr. Phil" all talk show host nominees got Best Talk Show Emmy nominations as well.

The Daytime Emmys will be May 16 at Radio City Music Hall in New York.
