Hollywood has been famous for its quickie celebrity romances. Ever since silent film star Rudolph Valentino's marriage in 1919 to actress Jean Acker lasted all of six hours, celebrities have proven that wealth, fame and power can never guarantee love, which can turn on a dime.

In the late '60s, actor Dennis Hopper married singer Michelle Phillips from the Mamas and the Pappas, a union that lasted all of eight days. "Seven of those days were pretty good," Hopper told the New York Times in 1994. "The eighth day was the bad one."

The trend of quickie marriages continues in Hollywood today, where it seems hardly a month goes by without a famous couple marrying and divorcing in the blink of an eye. Right, Kim Kardashian?
