Marge Gunderson is a chip off of the ol' block -- literally.

To celebrate Tuesday's special edition DVD release of Joel and Ethan Coen's Oscar-winning dark comedy "Fargo," the residents of Fargo, N.D., were awarded an oak wood chip statue of the Gunderson character, which was played in the film by Frances McDormand.

The wood chip statue alludes to a grisly scene Marge happens upon near the conclusion of the film.

Other highlights of the event included an a contest to "down the most tasty, barbeque-smeared Arby's Junior Roast Beef sandwiches," and prize giveaway to anyone in the crowd named "Marge."

The 1996 film earned the Coen brothers an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay, and McDormand an Oscar for Best Actress.

Tuesday's special edition DVD release features an interview with the Coens and McDormand and a new documentary, "Minnesota Nice" -- named after the Coen's home state and setting for most of the film.
