Wallace And Gromit's 'Curse' Tops Annie Nominations

"Wallace and Gromit" apparently aren't cursed when it comes to getting award nominations.That's because the clay-animated "Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit" led all nominees with 15 Monday for the 33rd annual Annie Awards, including Best Picture and four voice acting nominations."Curse of the Were-Rabbit" will go up against Tim Burton's stop-motion animated "Corpse Bride," the anime feature "Howl's Moving Castle," the computer-animated "Chicken Little" and the computer-animated "Madagascar."Voice actors Helena Bonham Carter, Ralph Fiennes, Peter Sallis and Nicholas Smith -- all featured in "Curse of the Were-Rabbit," will square off against each other for the feature film voice acting award.Competing for the top honor in the animated television category are "Avatar: The Last Airbender," "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends," "My Life as a Teenage Robot," "Star Wars: Close Wars II" and "The Batman."Grey Delisle as the Voice of Kitty in the "Danger Rangers" "Fires & Liars" episode; Johnny Hardwick (Dale Gribble" for "King of the Hill's" "Smoking and the Bandit," Tony Jay (Spiderus ) for "Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends'" "A Froggy Day in Sunny Patch"; Seth MacFarlane (Stewie) for "Family Guy's" "Brian the Bachelor" and Rob Paulsen (Eubie) for "The Happy Elf."The awards are presented by the International Animated Film Society, which recognizes the best in animation from film, television, commercials and short subjects.The awards will be handed out Feb. 4 in Los Angeles.
