'Mummy' Star Weisz Is New Mommy

Actress, Director Aronofsky Have Baby Boy

It's a boy for Oscar-winning actress Rachel Weisz and her fiance, director Darren Aronofsky.

A Weisz spokeswoman said the couple had their first child Thursday in New York. No other details were made available.

The 35-year-old Weisz starred opposite Brendan Fraser in the blockbuster thrillers "The Mummy" and "The Mummy Returns," and won an Oscar in March for her portrayal of a political activist in "The Constant Gardener."

She's also starred in the supernatural thriller "Constantine" and comedy-drama "About a Boy."

Later this year, Weisz can be seen in the sci-fi drama "The Fountain" opposite "X-Men: The Last Stand star Hugh Jackman -- a film directed by Aronofsky.

Aronofsky, 37, wrote and directed the independent film hit "Requiem for a Dream" in 2000.
