Teenagers with a TV in their bedroom have fewer healthier habits than those who don't, according to a new study from the University of Minnesota.A news release said those teens were less likely to exercise, eat fruits or vegetables, or enjoy family meals. They also consumed larger quantities of sweetened beverages and fast food and read or studied less than teens without TVs in their bedrooms.Researchers studied 781 teenagers. Nearly two-thirds have a TV in their bedroom. Those who did watched four to five more hours of TV a week.Boys with a set also shows a lower grade-point average than those without.Lead author Daheia Barr-Anderson said the findings show that parents should not allow TV in kids' rooms, and should take it away if it's already there.
