A Girl Scout "cookie mom" in Federal Way, Wash., said she used the treats to help rescue a woman who appeared to be in diabetic shock.

Danette Lam said she finished picking up hundreds of boxes of cookies to be sold when she spotted a car backed up on top of some bushes.

"The reverse lights were on and the car was still running ...it didn't look right," Lam said.

She got out of her vehicle and found a woman who appeared to be semiconscious locked inside her car.

"She just looked at me with this blank stare," Lam said.

Neighbors dialed 911. Just before paramedics arrived, the ailing woman's husband showed up and unlocked the car.

"He looked at me and asked, 'Do you have anything with sugar?'" Lam said.

Realizing the woman was a diabetic and likely suffering from a low blood sugar level, Lam opened a box of caramel cookies to share with her.

"She was able to take a couple bites and then the paramedics actually showed up and were able to give her full treatment, and she was able to walk away," Lam said.

Lam said she didn't get the woman's name, but said she was happy to be in the right place -- with the right cookie.
