THANKSGIVING RECIPE American Apple Pie

By Jennipher Shaver

This is a healthier version of the traditional American apple pie but without the pan.
    1 pre-made pie crust, thawed
    1 tablespoon butter, melted
    ½ cup sugar
    1 teaspoon cinnamon
    ½ teaspoon cloves
    ½ teaspoon nutmeg
    2 medium diced apples
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Unfold pie crust on a baking sheet coated with cooking spray.

  3. In a medium bowl mix butter, sugar, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg together. Stir in apples until coated.

  4. Pour apple mixture into center of the pie crust. Fold edges of crust over so that the filling is covered. Pinch edges together to seal. Pie should look like a bunched bag.

  5. Bake for 20 minutes or until crust is golden.

For a decorative touch, sprinkle brown sugar on the top of the pie after baking. Pre-made pie crusts are usually found in the refrigerated section of the grocery, not the frozen section.
