It's Vidalia Onion Season
May kicks off the season for Vidalia onions. These sweet, juicy onions are named after the area where they are grown: Vidalia, Georgia. This sweet taste of summer is fat and cholesterol free and contains vitamin C and potassium.Vidalias make a great addition to just about anything - summer salads, salsas, soups and casseroles.Vidalia onions are available in most supermarkets. Store Vidalia onions in a cool, dry place, preferably in your refrigerator, wrapped separately in paper towels.
