CLEVELAND -- Are you having problems trying to shed those extra pounds? If you are dieting, you've probably heard all of the gimmicks.
Two inventors said that they've come up with just the right thing to help people lose weight -- a product called Perfect Portions.
Doug works out and lives by the expression "No pain, no gain," but he's also meticulous about what he eats.
"You've got to eat right, you've got to be consistent with your workouts," he said. "(I eat) about 200 grams of protein a day, and about 400 carbohydrates."
But not many people have the time and the know-how to measure and weigh their food.
Kim Gorman and Jaime Brenkus said that they have the answer, and it's called Perfect Portions. They have pushed that product on the QVC channel and other TV shows.
They believe Perfect Portions is going to be huge.
"This is going to be bigger than the 8-Minute Abs," Brenkus said. "If it fits in the plate, you lose the weight."
Gorman and Brenkus said that we're living in an age of super-sizing, so they developed plates that give just right amount you need.
"It's a very firm-fitting lid," Gorman said. "You'll see that there's an impression on the lid, so you cannot overstuff your plate."
What do they think about other popular diet plans?
"If you're going to take a prepackaged system that's going to sit on your shelf for 30 days and expect that's going to feed your body holistically, you're nuts," Gorman said.
"They tell you (that) you can lose 10 to 15 pounds a week," Brenkus said. "The bottom line is you're not eating. Here, you're eating real food and you're losing the proper amount of weight."
The message of Perfect Portions is that you can eat, but your food must fit in the carefully measured compartments.
"This dish is really for somebody who has changed their mindset to say, 'I'm ready to face the problem at hand and deal with food,'" Gorman said.
