200 More Mumps Cases Reported This Week
Officials Still Unsure How Disease Is Spreading

DES MOINES, Iowa -- More than 200 more cases of mumps have cropped up in Iowa in the past week, which brings the total number of confirmed cases to 815.The Iowa Department of Public Health said the disease also appears to be spreading to more areas of the state.So far, 67 counties have reported at least one case of mumps. That's up from 60 counties a week ago.The new cases still aren't giving health officials a clear idea of how the illness is spreading.
