Operation Christmas Child Seeks Shoebox Donations

BOONE, N.C. -- The Rev. Franklin Graham is asking Christians to deliver their first Christmas gift before Thanksgiving.Graham's Samaritan's Purse Ministry is preparing for Operation Christmas Child, which this year plans to ship 8 million shoeboxes to children in 90 countries.He's asking Christians to fill shoeboxes with toys, useful gifts like flashlights and a picture with a return address so the recipients can write back.Graham also is asking each giver to pray for the child who will receive the gift.He said the shoeboxes must be delivered to one of the 1,800 collection sites nationwide between Nov. 14 and Nov. 21.
