How To Replace A Dimmer Switch

Have an old dimmer switch that just isn't working anymore? You might amazed at how easy it is to replace it.

  1. With any electrical project, the first and most important step is to turn off the power at the source.

  2. Next, it's just a matter of taking the old hardware out and disconnecting the old wiring.

  3. Then you'll attach the new wires from the dimmer switch to the circuits inside the wall.

  4. Make sure to follow the directions from the manufacturer. In most cases, black wires go to black wires, white to white. Make sure you cap them off securely.

  5. When you're done wiring, simply attach the dimmer into the wall.

  6. Next, attach the faceplate with a few screws included in the package.

  7. And finally, turn the power back on, and you're in business.
Enjoy your mood lighting and revel in the fact you did it yourself.
