Anyone who has awoken to an ant, spider or other bug crawling up their body knows that heebie-jeebie feeling doesn't quickly subside. So, residents who found some 110 pounds of scorpions in their apartment buildings might never be the same.

The arachnids were found in a Shenzen, China, apartment complex, and residents said they believe a real estate developer is behind the horde.

According to the Shanghai Daily, one resident awoke to a scorpion crawling on his body. When he turned on the light, he said he found hundreds of scorpions covering his floor.

And he wasn't the only one; the entire block of apartment buildings was filled with the poisonous creatures.

Afterward, witnesses started putting the pieces together and believe someone looking to oust residents for a construction project dumped the arachnids. They told the Shanghai Daily that they saw a man walking from the office of Shenzhen Luosha Engineering Development Co. with a bucket. The company is behind a proposed project at the complex.

Witnesses said they watched the man dump the bucked into apartment windows soon before finding the hundreds of scorpions.

The apartments are scheduled for demolition, but homeowners haven't yet signed on for compensation.

Police are investigating, but a manager with the company said they were moving forward on a deal and had no reason to scare away residents.
