Although no deal has been signed, it is being reported that the second "Terminator" sequel "T3" could yield star Arnold Schwarzenegger a $30 million payday.

'The Terminator'According to Variety, the movie, being financed by Intermedia Films, is being placed up for bids to attract major studios to acquire domestic theatrical, TV, VHS and DVD rights. Bids to acquire the film are expected to be in the $165-$180 million range, and Schwarzenegger's multi-million dollar salary would be guaranteed.

If it holds up, the $30 million salary for a film would set a new precedent. Sources close to the production deny the dollar figure, although they admit it is likely to surpass the $25 million Schwarzenegger was paid for the "Batman and Robin."

The "T3" storyline takes place 10 years beyond "T2," Variety reported. John Conner (played by Edward Furlong in "T2") is now in his 20s, and he and the cyborg terminator (Schwarzenegger) team up to battle a female TX model, a Terminatrix -- whose powers and morphing abilities go beyond anything seen before.

Jonathan Mostow ("U-571") has taken over the director's duties from James Cameron, who helmed the first two films.
