The grunge group Nirvana has lived on despite the death of frontman Kurt Cobain, but the group wants nothing to do with his widow.

Courtney Love According to wire reports, Nirvana surviving members Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic have filed a response in court to Courtney Love's suit blocking the release of the Nirvana boxed set, which was due in stores this fall.

Grohl and Novoselic said in an open letter to fans Love claims to be concerned about preserving Cobain's legacy, but in the truth that her actions are "only about the revitalization of her career motivated solely by her blind self-interest."

The boxed set would have coincided with the 10th anniversary of the band's smash album '"Nevermind."

If Grohl and Novoselic have their way in court, Love will be thrown off the board controlling the band's musical legacy.

Specifically at issue, according to wire reports, is a fight for control of the song ''You Know You're Right," which was recorded by Nirvana just months before Cobain's suicide in 1994. The song was to be included in the boxed set.

Love has performed the song publicly despite her refusal to allow the release of Nirvana's original version, claim Grohl and Novoselic.

Love's attorney did not respond to phone calls to comment on the duo's claims.
