1,920 Cases Discovered Inside Home

Police recovered $50,000 worth of stolen microwave popcorn after executing a raid Tuesday.

The raid, which involved SWAT and burglary squad detectives, resulted in finding 1,920 cases of Act II microwave popcorn, weighing 30,000 pounds. The cases were stacked up to the ceiling in the garage, a Columbus television station reported.

The popcorn was discovered inside the home's garage Saturday when homicide detectives served a search warrant stemming from a January murder.

It turns out that the popcorn was stolen from a popcorn manufacturing plant in Marion, Ohio, along with a 53-foot trailer. Detectives were searching for the trailer.

Police charged James Conway Jr., with receiving stolen property along with his daughter, Jennifer Conway, who lived in the house where the popcorn was found.

Detectives served the search warrant Saturday because another family member, James Conway III, was charged with murder and felonious assault stemming from a January shooting outside a Columbus adult nightclub, where an Ohio State University student was killed and another man was injured.

James Conway III is currently in the Franklin County Jail.
