Easter Candy -- If It's Sticky, It's Icky
Are Candy Bars The Worst?

PHILADELPHIA -- Easter is a holy time of the year for Christians everywhere, but for kids it means something else -- lots of candy.
Gummy bears, chocolate bunnies, marshmallow peeps, tootsie rolls are all favorites of the season. But some are harder on teeth than others.
Dr. Jeffrey Blum, a dentist, said that this is a business time of year for him. However, he said it is not necessarily how much sugar kids ingest, it is the kind of candy.
Any candy that sits on teeth long enough can cause cavities. Blum said that if your kids are going to eat chewy candy, they should clean their teeth quickly.
"If they can't get to a toothbrush, they can get a drink of water and rinse their mouths and thereby act like a car wash," Blum said.
But what is the absolute worst candy according to Blum?
"When we see kids with Tootsie Roll Pops we cringe," Blum said.
That is because the pop sits on the tooth while kids suck it and the tootsie roll inside tends to stick.
So load up on the chocolate bars and remember Blum's advice -- "If it's sticky, it's icky."
