Mystery Cam: Land Of The Free

Hello there! Chris E. Keedei here. I'll be taking over for Edd today, who was supposed to be taking over for Laura. It's complicated, I know, but that's how it is working for Edd. "Complicated" doesn't begin to cover it.

Mystery CamAnyway, in this space last week was an extremely silly Webcam column that was so weird that it turned out to be relatively challenging, because that's how Edd gets when he has too many Pop-Tarts. This week, I'm going to give you what I think is a beautiful picture and just let you enjoy the search.

A lot of people guessed "Egypt" for last week's Mystery Cam. Of course, it wasn't from Egypt -- not even close -- but guessing it still made you win: The secondary contest was to be one of the first three to heed Edd's prompting and guess "Egypt." Those winners were, in order: Diane Dansevicus, Linda Blair and Fran Millner. Congrats!

Last Week:

As I say, last week proved relatively challenging, but the devoted Webcam fans came through. In particular, Sue in Tuscon, Jerry Cote and Susan O'Brien had few troubles getting the fact that it was picture of Nantucket. And Webcam All-Star Sven got in the right answer just one minute too late.

The clues hinged on extensive knowledge of naughty limericks, as does everything in Edd's world. He made several rhymes to prod you along, including "chuck it" and "buck it," and thankfully, he left it at that. The reference to "the McCourts' former stomping grounds" involves knowing that, in "Angela's Ashes," the McCourt family lived in Limerick for a spell.

And also, on behalf of IBS, the parent company of this Web site, I'd like to apologize for Edd making the automatically generated subject of your e-mails "Imadoofus." He was just joshing. That's his little way of saying that he likes you.

Clues:

This will probably be a toughie. Let's start by saying that this place is bordered by a My, a La, and a Cam. And, interestingly, one version of its name translates as "Land of the free." Et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
