Brando, De Niro Might Team For First Time
'Godfather' Actors Close To Signing For Heist Story
Veteran actors Marlon Brando and Robert De Niro might soon appear on screen together for the first time ever.
The actors, who both played Vito Corleone in separate chapters of the "Godfather" trilogy, are reportedly close to signing for "The Score," opposite rising star Edward Norton.
According to Variety, De Niro and Norton have already agreed to co-star in the story about a young man who convinces a master thief to pull off one last heist.
If producers can agree to a fee, Brando will play the veteran thief's fence.
The budget for this Mandalay/Paramount production is already high, thanks to the fees required by De Niro and Oscar nominee Norton. Norton earned a best actor nomination for 1998's "American History X."
The crime drama, to be directed by "Bowfinger's" Frank Oz, is set to begin filming in Montreal in late April.
