Special To Air In November

Ricky MartinPASADENA, Calif., Posted 3:50 p.m. July 25, 1999 -- Ricky Martin is bringing la vida loca to television.

The pop sensation will star in a one-hour special airing on CBS in November, the network announced Sunday at the Television Critics Association meeting. Martin will sing, dance and be joined by several guest stars, CBS said.

"We pursued it hard and fast and we just got there first," CBS Entertainment President Nancy Tellem said of the Martin deal.

Martin, once part of the teeny-bopper group Menudo, has seen his solo career soar since performing at the Grammy Awards with the hit single "Livin' La Vida Loca" and a top-selling compact disc.

CBS also announced new specials with country singer Shania Twain and a Thanksgiving night program starring Celine Dion.
