WINTER PARK, Fla. -- A new "happy hour" party in Central Florida is offering shots of Botulinum Toxin to people looking for after-work cosmetic improvements.
Dr. Scott Greenberg hosts invitation-only plastic surgery parties in Winter Park featuring the Botox injections.
The gatherings are for patients like dentist Deann Rife, who didn't like seeing wrinkles on her face.
Rife gets a quick shot of Botox into her face muscles, paralyzing them for three to six months.
"I had a lot of patients tell me, 'Oh, you look tired today, you look tired.' And I said, 'I'm tired of looking tired,'" Rife said.
Botox is often used on the upper third of the face to eliminate frown lines and crows feet.
Several of the party attendees pay up to $450 for the treatment.
The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery reported that Botox was the most popular cosmetic procedure performed last year. However, it has not been approved by the FDA for cosmetic use.
