There has been a second sighting of a shark attacking a seal off of Cape Cod.

Several people reported seeing a feeding frenzy in the waters off Chatham's South Beach on Sunday afternoon. The body of a seal was later found washed up on the beach, reported WCVB-TV in Boston.

The attack comes 10 days after experts said a great white shark ate a seal near Chatham's North Beach.

Marine experts are downplaying the incident, saying the thousands of seals that congregate in Chatham provide a perfect feeding ground for sharks.

"There are sharks in the water, there are seals in the water. It is a natural part of the marine environment," said CT Harry of the Cape Cod Beach Stranding Network.

Despite the shark sightings, the beaches remain open.

"Particularly in that area near the lighthouse, strong currents are always our bigger concern for folks' safety," said Chatham Park and Recreation Director Dan Tobin.

Extra marine patrols have been assigned to the waters and beach. Officials said beachgoers should avoid swimming near seals.
