Sony Names New President
Sony has named veteran executive Kunitake Ando its new president.
He'll replace Nobuyuki Idei, who takes over the position of chairman, left vacant when Sony founder Akio Morita died last October.
In reporting on the appointment, Tuesday's Asahi Shimbun commented that the appointment is expected to allow Idei to accelerate his introduction of American management techniques at Sony and increase its competitiveness.
