TV Stars Cheer 'Friends' In Salary Scrap
CNN's Showbiz Today presented an impressive assemblage of TV sitcom stars Thursday who supported the reported demand by the stars of "Friends" for a salary of $800,000 per episode.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus, the former "Seinfeld" regular, congratulated the "Friends" stars for sticking together, saying "I think there's probably strength in numbers."
Bill Cosby remarked: "Hey man, if the talent asks for it and if they can't pay it, if NBC can't pay it, then they fire the people, don't they? I don't see where NBC is going broke because they have to pay."
"E.R." star Anthony Edwards commented: "NBC's been making a tremendous amount of money off of this show, with Super Bowl numbers in advertising."
Drew Carrey gave the stars this advice: "Soak NBC, take as much money as you can from them."
