Walters: $12-Million-A-Year Newsie

Barbara Walters is due to re-up with ABC for more than $12 million a year, the New York Post reported Wednesday, citing unnamed sources.

"She hasn't signed yet, but ABC essentially offered her what she wanted," one insider told the Post, emphasizing: "She got what she wanted."

Such a deal, the Post observed, would make Walters the second-highest-paid female personality on TV (following Oprah).

Her spokeswoman, Cindy Berger, told the newspaper: "I know that things have been going very well during [the negotiations]. ... But she has not signed."
