Coffee May Make Your Joints Stiff
Study Links Coffee And Rheumatoid Arthritis
A new study's finding may be another booster to the old cliche, "All things in moderation."
According to sister station NewsNet5, a new British study has found a link between coffee and rheumatoid arthritis.
Researchers say that people who drank more than three cups of coffee a day doubled their chances of getting the disease.
Rheumatoid arthritis occurs when the immune system breaks down and attacks joints, causing severe inflammation, pain and stiffness.
NewsNet5 reports that the study does not prove coffee causes rheumatoid arthritis, but it's the first study to offer evidence of a possible link.
The study will be published in the British Journal of Medicine.
