Do you have a secret that you need to confess? Is it eating at your very soul, consuming your every thought, determining your actions from sunup to sundown?

Image from the confessor.comSounds like it's time to confess. Come on, you'll feel a lot better.

Now you can unburden your guilty soul on the Internet. Forget going to confession. Just belly up to your computer and spill the beans.

Theconfessor allows sinners to make peace with God through cyberspace.

Forgiveness Was Never So Easy

It's a pop-up site that shows a series of slides, prodding sinners to either consider their sins silently or type them into the space provided.

"If you take the latter option, you are assured that all that you type remains on your computer and will not be transmitted in any way to anyone else," the site reads. "This is between you and God, and your privacy is totally respected."

Catholics might not like the site. It's untraditional in that it doesn't ask for penance, and priests are eliminated from the process.

After you type in your sins, they are just washed away.

The site was launched this week by Premier Online, which claims to be the UK's No. 1 Christian Web site for news, events and radio.

On The Less Holy Side ...

If you do decide to take it to the Web, make sure you don't actually tune into theconfessor.com, which also accepts confessions, but with more of a Jerry Springeresque flair. For instance, read the confession of the untrustworthy nurse.

forgivenOn theconfessor.com, you can post your sins for all the world to read and then you can rag on other sinners' confessions.

Yet another place to come clean with your iniquities is through the ritual of Surpu Masu. But beware: On this fiery site, sins runneth over.

Premier Online's confessor is more introspective -- and a bit more wholesome, seeing as how you don't have to wade through the unholy acts of others on your spiritual quest for peace -- and includes Bible quotes, sample prayers and reflections on spirituality.

The graphics aren't much to look at -- just a collection of clouds, sunflowers and leaves. But 10 quick clicks and you're on your way to heaven.
