'Scorpion King' Star To Play 'X-Men' Villain

Hu Among New Cast Members in 'X2'

The female lead who played a protagonist along with The Rock in "The Scorpion King" has been cast as a villain for the "X-Men" sequel.

Kelly Hu in 'The Scorption King'According to the Hollywood Reporter online, Kelly Hu has been added to the cast of 'X2" which will start production next month. Hu will play Anne, a mutant with human emotions that is a sidekick to the villain, Striker, a role that still hasn't been cast.

Other new cast members for "X2" include stage veteran Alan Cumming and "Spy Kids" bad guy Alan Cumming, who will play superhero Nightcrawler, and relative newcomer Aaron Stanford ("Hollywood Ending"), who will play a mutant student, Pyro.

According to the Reporter, all of the principal players from the first "X-Men" will reprise their roles for the sequel, including Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Halle Berry (Storm), Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Anna Paquin (Rogue), James Marsden (Cyclops), Famke Janssen (Dr. Grey ), and Rebecca Romijn-Stamos (Mystique ).

The sequel will be directed by Bryan Singer, who helmed the original.
