In a galaxy not so far, far away, the second "Star Wars" prequel will "attack" store shelves this fall.

According to Fox Home Entertainment, "Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones" will make its debut on video and DVD Nov. 12. It is only the second film of the "Star Wars" saga after "Episode I - The Phantom Menace" to appear in the DVD format.

Like "Menace," the "Clones" DVD will be a two-disc set available in both the widescreen and standard format. Among the features on the first disc is a commentary track by director George Lucas, producer Rick McCallum, sound designer Ben Burtt, and several other crewmembers on the film.

The second disc will contain eight deleted scenes created specifically for the DVD release, documentaries explaining the digital animation and sound development from the film; featurettes exploring the general storyline of the film, action scenes, and the love story of Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) and Padme Amidala (Natalie Portman); composer John Williams "Across the Stars" music video, and more.

According to Fox, the "Star Wars" saga, from the original trilogy video releases to the "Phantom Menace" DVD, has sold over 100 million copies, making the most successful video franchise in history.

The film picks up 10 years after "The Phantom Menace" left off, where we find Anakin a Jedi apprentice under Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor), and Padme as an established senator.

With her life threatened by political separatists, Amidala soon finds herself under the watch of Anakin and Obi-Wan. Unable to suppress his feelings, Anakin falls for Padme even though love is forbidden for a Jedi.

Meanwhile, Obi-Wan goes out on his out to find who's behind the assassination attempt on Amidala, and discovers a Republic secret that will no doubt change the face of the galaxy.

"Episode II," which debuted in theaters May 16, has earned nearly $297 million at the box office thus far. The final chapter in the prequel trilogy, the yet-untitled "Episode III," will debut in theaters in May 2005.
