Already a ratings winner, "The Osbournes" is a big hit with the Television Academy of Arts and Sciences, too.
The MTV-produced smash featuring the foul-mouthed exploits of metal singer Ozzy Osbourne, his wife-manager Sharon, and children Kelly and Jack won the Best Reality Show Emmy Award at the academy's Creative Arts ceremony Saturday in Los Angeles.
The show became the most-viewed program in MTV's history during its 10-episode run last spring. The win is a bittersweet victory for the family: Sharon Osbourne was diagnosed with colon cancer in July after the end of the show's initial run.
Footage of her chemotherapy treatments will be included in the upcoming season of the show.
Other big winners Saturday included the sitcom "Frasier," which won three Emmys to boost its total to 30 -- breaking the record previously held by "The Mary Tyler Moore Show."
This year's top nominee, the macabre drama "Six Feet Under," took home five Emmys Saturday night. It has been nominated for 23 Emmys in all.
The rest of the Primetime Emmy Awards will be handed out Sunday night in Los Angeles.
