Queen guitarist Brian May said that being awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was "better than a knighthood."
The star, which was unveiled Friday, honors Queen members May, Roger Taylor, John Deacon and the late Freddie Mercury.
Queen joins the Beatles to become one of only a handful of bands from outside of the United States to earn a place on one of the world's most famous streets, according to the Web site Ananova.com.
May and drummer Roger Taylor were in Hollywood Friday for the unveiling of Queen's coveted star.
May said he was looking forward to having his grandchildren walk on the star.
Recipients of the Hollywood Walk of Fame stars are chosen by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce's board of directors from hundreds of nominations.
