Acclaimed actor Gary Oldman may soon become a "prisoner" of the next Harry Potter movie.
According to the Hollywood Reporter online, Oldman is in negotiations to play wizard Sirus Black, a pivotal character in "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban."
Black plays an escaped prisoner from Azkaban in the story, and a vital link between himself and Potter is revealed.
Daniel Radcliffe will reprise his role of Harry Potter in the movie, and Rupert Grint and Emma Watson will return as Ron and Hermoine, respectively.
An actor is yet to be tapped to fill the late Richard Harris' shoes as Professor Dumbledore.
Rumors of "The Lord of the Rings" star Ian McKellen taking over the role were recently denied on the actor's official Web site. The site reported, however, that McKellen may be interested in playing a different role in the series later on.
The next Potter film is set to begin filming in March, and is scheduled to be released the summer of 2004. Alfonso Cuaron is set direct, as Chris Columbus, who helmed the first two Potter films, will produce "Azkaban."
