Woman, Dog Recovering From Attack

DENVER -- A Colorado woman and her small dog recovering after being bit on camera by a roaming pit bull, reported TV station KMGH.A surveillance camera at the park caught the attack. Two pit bulls can be seen chasing a small, white dog before one pit bull catches it.The owner, Jacqueline Harris, rushed to her 3-year-old dog and is bitten in the arm by one of the pit bulls. Two other men rush in to break up the attack.Harris received stitches in her hand for the bite. Her dog was treated by a veterinarian and is recovering, reported the.Harris told the Fort Collins Coloradoan newspaper she didn't think twice about using her hands to try and pry open the pit bull's mouth and save her dog."He wasn't moving inside of the dog's mouth and I thought he was dead," Harris told the newspaper.Investigators have not yet determined who the dogs' owner is. A representative with a local humane society would only say that the dog that bit Harris is likely to be put under quarantine.
