X-Men Going Global With Chat Tuesday

Unprecedented Session To Be Translated In 6 Languages

"X-Men" fans around the world can get a jump on the highly anticipated release of "X-Men 2" Tuesday with a chance to pose questions to several cast members and filmmakers in an unprecedented global video chat session online.

Hugh Jackman in 'X-Men 2'According to studio 20th Century Fox, the chat -- scheduled in Los Angeles from noon to 2 p.m. PDT -- is being held in celebration of the largest day and date release of a film in motion picture history. The film is scheduled to open May 2 in 93 territories.

Taking part in the chat are stars Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Rebecca Romijn-Stamos (Mystique), Famke Janssen (Dr. Jean Grey), James Marsden (Cyclops), Anna Paquin (Rogue), Kelly Hu (Deathstrike), Shawn Ashmore (Ice Man), Aaron Stanford (Pyro) and Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler). Director-screenwriter Bryan Singer and producer Lauren Shuler Donner are also scheduled to participate.

Fox says over 30 translators will help facilitate the chat for the worldwide audience, as they simultaneously translate the two-hour session in English, French, Italian, Spanish, German and Portuguese.

Each of the talent participating will be allotted a 10-minute time slot to answer questions from fans. Over 25,000 fans can participate simultaneously in the event, and can chat with other fans as well as submitting questions to talent. Up to 50,000 fans are expected to take part in the event over the two-hour period.

Users can participate in the global video chat at the film's official Web site. A schedule detailing participation of the talent will be posted on the site in advance of the chat.

In addition to several of the stars listed above, Patrick Stewart (Professor Charles Xavier), Ian McKellen (Magneto) and Halle Berry (Storm) will reprise their roles for the film's sequel, which introduces more characters from the X-Men comic book universe.
