Chat With Beastie Boys On AOL, 'Malcolm' Star

Also Thursday: Collective Soul, 'Buffy Star', Iyanla Vanzant On AOL

Frankie MunizTo my disappointment, I learned that "Malcolm in the Middle" is not, in fact, a "Three's Company"-esque sitcom in which Malcolm X moves in with two single women; it is, instead, just about a suburban family. Oh well, maybe one of its stars, Frankie Muniz, who plays Malcolm, the militant black nationalist of the family, will have something interesting to say anyway. She'll be chatting on yahoo.com at 7 p.m. EST, 6 p.m. CST, 5 p.m. MST, 4 p.m. PST.

Collective Soul is still going strong?!?! Good for them! At first they looked like they were riding the mildly grim post-grunge bandwagon, with tunes like "Shine" from "Hints, Allegations and Things Left Unsaid," and "Gel," "December," and "The World I Know" from "Collective Soul." But their latest, "Blender," is supposed to represent a new breakthrough for them. See the band interviewed and then performing a live concert through getmusic.com at 6 p.m. EST, 5 p.m. CST, 4 p.m. MST, 3 p.m. PST.

Every single freakin' person I know is in love with the WB show "Buffy, The Vampire Slayer." And I only know hip Gen-Xers! So there must be something to this show. Either that, or hip Gen-Xers are lame. I really can't say one way or another. At any rate, Buffy's younger sister, played by Michelle Trachtenberg, will be chatting today on nick.com at 7 p.m. EST, 6 p.m. CST, 5 p.m. MST, 4 p.m. PST.

AOLers only: In Oprah's army of professional affirmers, Iyanla Vanzant has a major role. In fact, few people in history have found so many ways to say "You go, girl!"; a few of her spiritual rally-boosters include "Acts of Faith: Daily Meditations for People of Color," "Faith in the Valley: Lessons for Women on the Journey to Peace," "In the Meantime: Finding Yourself and the Love You Want," and now "Until Today: Daily Devotions for Spiritual Growth and Peace of Mind." Chat with her on aol.com at 9 p.m. EST, 8 p.m. CST, 7 p.m. MST, 6 p.m. PST. AOL members only. Keyword: Live.

Beastie Boys MCA, Mike D, and Ad-Rock (l. to r.)AOLers only: Soon the Beastie Boys will have more compilations than original albums. The latest one is a 4-LP vinyl anthology. More exciting, though, is the release of all their videos on DVD, and as anyone who has ever heard of MTV knows, they have some great videos. Chat with them on aol.com at 9 p.m. EST, 8 p.m. CST, 7 p.m. MST, 6 p.m. PST. AOL members only. Keyword: Live.
