Awards: In 1984, Parker received the best young actress Young Artist Award for "Footloose." In 2000, she received a Golden Globe for her role in the hit HBO series "Sex and the City." She was also nominated for an Emmy in 2000 for the comedy.
Big Break: When Parker was 8, she saw an audition advertised in the newspaper for NBC's "The Little Match Girl." She begged her mother to take her and got the part. When she was 11, her family moved to New York, where she scored the title role of "Annie" on Broadway. She played the role for two years. After Parker quit the Broadway production, she earned a role in her first feature film, "Rich Kids," starring John Lithgow.
Off The Set: Parker has been married to actor Mathew Broderick since 1997. She lived with actor and popular news subject Robert Downey Jr. in the '80s for seven years. The 5-foot-4 actress is known as something of a workaholic: In 1996 she took on five movie parts and two Broadway plays, so it was no wonder that she rang in the new year with a bit of nervous exhaustion.
