Wide Or Thin, Dump Those Pumps
Heels Are Bad For Your Knees
What Heel Do You Wear?
Whether you are trying to show off those sexy legs or just be comfortable, those high-heeled shoes could be affecting your health.
According to researchers in The Lancet medical journal, both chunky heels and stilettos are bad for your knees.
Women wear chunky heels for comfort, but they are wearing them for longer amounts of time.
The extra couple of inches on both heels apply equal amounts of pressure to the knees, increasing chances of arthritis.
And compared to walking barefoot, there is 26 percent more pressure on the knees from high heels.
In the study, 20 women wore two pairs of shoes with 3-inch heels, one with a narrow heel and the other with a thick one.
