'Simpsons' Actors Get Big Raise
Six Actors Each Getting $2.2 Million Per Season
The voices behind "The Simpsons" have spoken ? and they are getting big raises because of it.
Variety reported Monday that six actors on the series ?- Dan Castellaneta, Nancy Cartwright, Hank Azaria, Harry Shearer, Julie Kavner and Yeardley Smith -? are closing in on deals to get $100 thousand an episode for the next two years, which works out to $2.2 million a season.
The actors are also expected to get a $1 million bonus that was part of their last contract, according to Variety.
Their salaries would go up to $125 thousand an episode if the show is still on three seasons from now. That's $100 thousand more an episode than what the actors were making in 1998 when they threatened to walk from the show.
