Emeril Part Of New NBC Fall Lineup
'Weakest Link' Coming Back For 2 Nights
The XFL is out, and a popular chef is in to hopefully cook up some high ratings for NBC come this fall television season.
Chef Emeril Lagasse, a personality who has gained enormous popularity on cable's Food Network, will star in a half-hour Tuesday night comedy that chronicles his life as a popular culinary master that carefully blends the demands of a hit cooking show with his own very funny personal life.
NBC execs announced that addition and other changes to its primetime fall lineup to a group of advertisers at Radio City Music Hall Monday, and detailed each new show on the NBC Web site.
Joining Emeril on Tuesday nights is the "Scrubs," an ensemble comedy about a group of young doctors.
Other new shows this season include "UC: Undercover," a drama about an elite group of five undercover agents (Sundays); a "Law and Order" spin-off, "Law and Order: Criminal Intent" (Sundays) and "Crossing Jordan," a drama about a medical examiner (Mondays).
Joining the Thursday night lineup in the coveted post-"Friends" spot is "Inside Schwartz," a sitcom about the inner-thoughts of a sportscaster.
The network also announced that it is bringing back "The Weakest Link," the in-your-face game show hosted by Anne Robinson, but for two nights this fall. The show will air in NBC's Sunday and Monday nights.
Canceled last week, the XFL will be replaced on Saturdays by a weekly movie. Other shows that didn't make the fall cut include "Dag," "The Fighting Fitzgeralds" and "The Weber Show."
