Debbie Reynolds Returns To Vegas, And More

Probably the biggest news in showrooms this week is the return to Las Vegas of former casino/hotel owner Debbie Reynolds, who is helping to inagurate the showroom at the Suncoast, but there are lots of other options this week including gospel, R&B, country, heavy metal and mariachi!

  • Take 6
    Blue Note, Aladdin
    Sept. 18-23
    (800) 637-3424

As part of its ongoing quest to bring a different kind of music to Vegas, the Blue Note will host the Grammy-winning a cappella gospel group for several nights of shows.

  • Hank Williams III with The Melvins
    Mandalay Bay, House of Blues
    Sept. 21
    (877) 632-7400

Apparently it's in the genes, as the third member of the legendary country Williams family takes the stage with his unique blend of country, honky-tonk and blues.

  • Alice Cooper
    Mandalay Bay, House of Blues
    Sept. 22
    (877) 632-7400

Let's hope that there won't be any bats around. Oh, wait -- was that Alice or Ozzy? You know, all those scary '70s heavy-metal acts looked alike to me.

  • Luther Vandross with Boyz II Men
    Mandalay Bay
    Sept. 22
    (702) 895-3900

One of the greatest soul/R&B singers of our time is teaming up with one of the original "boy bands" of the '90s for a series of shows.

  • Kenny Rogers
    Las Vegas Hilton
    Sept. 22-23
    (800) 222-5361

I love making this joke: Why does Kenny Rogers love to perform in Las Vegas? Because he's "The Gambler." Get it? Oh, I crack myself up.

  • Scorpions
    Aladdin
    Sept. 23
    (800) 634-3424

How's this for juxtaposition: the hard-rock Scorpions will be performing with a full 64-piece orchestra. Hmmmm ...

  • 10th Annual Mariachi Festival
    Mandalay Bay
    Sept. 23
    (877) 632-7400

Believe it or not, this celebration of mariachi music has become an institution around Las Vegas and in other equally strange parts of the country.

  • Merle Haggard
    Boulder Station
    Sept. 21
    (800) 634-3101

Would you believe that country legend Merle Haggard got his musical start after seeing a Johnny Cash concert while Haggard was in prison for burglary?

  • Debbie Reynolds
    Suncoast
    Sept. 23-24
    (877) 677-7111

Speaking of legendary, the fantastic singer, entertainer and former casino owner Debbie Reynolds returns to Las Vegas for a couple of shows at the new Suncoast hotel in Northwest Vegas.
