Great London Deals

Is it too early to start thinking about where you're spending New Year's? Well, it sure seems like it. But the fact is that it isn't, not if you want to get a superb London deal anyway.

Among the many London deals written up on Frommers.com, the most impressive is a $828 package deal (based on double occupancy) including airfare from San Francisco to London on Virgin Atlantic, six nights at the centrally-located Shaw Park Plaza, airport transfers, hotel taxes and daily breakfast.

That one departs on December 26 and you have to reserve it by December 9, or whenever it sells out. Go to Virgin Atlantic's site or call Virgin Vacations at 888/YES-VIRGIN.

Or what if you'd rather go to London earlier than that? France Vacations has a deal that offers five-nights accommodation at the two-star Regents Palace, airfare from San Francisco on Continental for $639.

That sounds like a much better deal, doesn't it? Why did I even mention the other one? Well, the only problem with this one is that that price isn't guaranteed, and you kinda have to time it just right. But as long as your trip is between the windows of November 1 to December 11 or Christmas Day to March 31, you should be fine.

For this one, call 800/332-5332.

Ski And Stay For Less Than $20

Are you a skier? Are you also really poor and/or thrifty? You're in luck.

There's no shortage of skiing opportunities in British Columbia. And one of them offers lodging for $12.95 in U.S. dollars ($18.95 Canadian) and then ? get this ? free skiing!

Of course, you have to stay in hostel, which is a nice term for "barracks." But this is at the Powder Springs Ski Resort, which is (reportedly; I've never been there myself) nothing short of massive and amazing. For more information about the hostel deal, try hostels.bc.ca or call 250/837-4050 or 888/663-8825.

And there are other options at the same resort for under $20. You could stay at the Monashee Lodge, in motel-style rooms, for $13.50 a night, plus free skiing (again, this second deal sound a lot better -- see, I'm rewarding those who read the whole blurbs). And this one has access to an indoor whirlpool and a big dining room.

And then, if you want a fully stocked hotel, heck, that'll only cost $20 a night American, plus the usual free skiing. For more about either of these, try 877-4CATSKI or 800/991-4455 or visit catpowder.com.
