Dixie Chick Weds In Vegas Ceremony

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Posted 1:29 p.m. EDT June 25, 2000 -- Dixie Chicks' lead singer Natalie Maines and beau Adrian Pasdar were wed early Saturday morning at the famous "Little White Wedding Chapel" on the Las Vegas Strip.

Following the group's sold out show at Vegas'Thomas and Mack Arena, the couple -- with only a photographer and security guard in attendance -- left the venue and went to the chapel.

"Pastor Ann" married the couple in a simple $55 ceremony, the least expensive no-frills package offered. The package included use of the chapel, candlelight service, traditional music and the minister.

Following the ceremony, the couple purchased matching chapel T-shirts with purple hearts, according to a news release. They then joined fellow band members Martie Seidel and Emily Robison, along with the crew and usual "Fly" tour entourage, for an evening of gambling before hitting the road for Salt Lake City at 2:15am.

Reports the press release: Emily Erwin was up $335, Martie Seidel won $210 and the newlyweds won $740.

The "Little White Wedding Chapel" is perhaps the most famous of the nearly 100 chapels specializing in the quickie Vegas wedding. The chapel has hosted weddings since 1954, and numerous celebrities have said their vows there, including Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra, Michael Jordan, Bruce Willis and Demi Moore.
