There are a number of companies that produce GPS products like Magellan, Furuno, Garmin and TomTom, and the affordable ones for the general public range in price from $200 to $400.

Stocking Stuffers

There are a number of stocking stuffers available that can make driving a more fun or safe experience. One is the Samsonite Lock De-Icer, which will thaw out frozen locks, comes equipped with a built-in flashlight and costs around $15.

For someone who spends a lot of hours behind the wheel, like a traveling businessman or truck driver, the Drive Alert Master would make a great gift. For the cost of $29.99, the Drive Alert Master attaches to the driver’s ear, and if the driver’s head begins to slump, it emits a loud beeping noise that will wake the driver up.

At a cost of around $40, a Coleman Inverter Power Strip will plug into a car lighter socket, which is good for for running laptops, DVD players, MP3 players and more. It is designed to hang on a seat back and has a wall outlet plus a USB power port for charging mobile electronics.
