A millionaire philanthropist and the Hong Kong government appear to have reached an agreement to transform the late Bruce Lee's Kowloon mansion from a seedy "love hotel" into a tourist attraction.

The China Post reported that Yu Panglin and the government want the property to be restored to the way it appeared when the martial arts movie star lived there before Panglin bought it in the 1960s.

Panglin tried to sell the mansion last year, but took it off the market when Lee's fans protested. The property was recently estimated to be worth about $100 million.

According to the French News Service AFP, Panglin will donate the property to the government if he's satisfied it can create and maintain a business plan that will turn the mansion into a tourist attraction.

AFP reported that there are plans for a large museum complex with a cinema, library and martial arts center. And Lee's daughter said the family would donate some of Lee's personal items including his movie costumes.

The U.S.-born Lee died 1973 when he was 32.
