Have you ever read a romance novel and wished your partner were the one conquering the bad guys in exotic locales -- or wanted to put yourself into the book your significant other was sighing over?

A Web site called TorridRomance.com allows you to provide details about yourself or your fantasy lover for a customized love story in the wild west, medieval romance, exotic vacation or modern-day Cinderella tale.

When adding a personal touch to the stories, details like eye color, hair length and body type are included. If those standard details aren't enough, you can choose which perfumes and colognes the characters wear, as well as more in-dephth factoids such as the name of the story's villain.

The site says the paperback books are "tasteful gifts between friends, family, and lovers alike and are equally suitable for many a varied occasions -- a birthday, an anniversary, a wedding."

Now, I'm not sure how I would feel about a family member providing personal details about myself or my wife for a steamy book (you can designate, for instance, boxers or briefs for the men), but I guess they want as broad of a market as possible.

And some free advice -- if you're ordering a book for someone, you're probably best off fudging some of the details. A stable boy with a beer gut and old pair of jeans probably won't get the response you're hoping for.
